Books: Chocolate – Indulge Your Inner Chocoholic by Dom Ramsey is a really good overview of all things chocolate – where it comes from, differences between origins, how it's made. Filled with pictures so it's not too heavy going.

Workshops: I've got an introductory Beginner's Guide to Chocolate with the Workshop app. It's £10 and will teach you the basics of making your own chocolates.
